NEURODEM Cymru is developing a high quality portfolio of trials and other well designed studies that address neurodegenerative diseases and the dementias from both the clinical and wider perspectives (see Aims and Objectives for more details).
Studies that are adopted onto the NEURODEM portfolio can benefit from a variety of support, depending on the resources available at individual sites.
This might include publicising the study, linking with user and carer patient groups, developing research bids or the identification and recruitment of patients.

Eligibility
A research project eligible for inclusion on the NEURODEM portfolio is defined as any study funded through a national peer review process in open competition. Research that is led from Wales, has partners in England and is recruiting NHS patients will also be submitted for inclusion to the UKCRN portfolio. NEURODEM Cymru is also committed to collating information about all relevant research studies across Wales, and would like to hear about those that are conducted as part of a PhD course of study.
Research development
NEURODEM aims to turn research ideas into funded studies. Five research development groups have been established. If you have research ideas that you would like to discuss please contact the respective convenors or the Research Portfolio Development Fellows (details below).
How to obtain support
NEURODEM Cymru employs three part time Research Portfolio Development Fellows. They can assist with the process of adopting research projects to the portfolio, organise the provision of support, facilitate the development and submission of research proposals, and identify funding opportunities. For further information about the process of formally adopting studies onto the register, support with the adoption process and details of further support which maybe available for investigators, please contact either:
