Research Development Groups (RDGs)
To further develop the creative drive of NEURODEM Cymru and to turn research ideas into funded studies five RDGs have been established. These will complement the Alzheimer’s Disease/genetics and Huntingdon’s Disease research work of international repute which has already been established in Wales.
New research development groups appointed (15th May 2009)
NEURODEM is pleased to support the following research development groups:
Cognitive rehabilitation: using Huntington’s disease as a model of dysexecutive dysfunction (Prof. Anne Rosser)
Promoting the visual arts to older people with dementia (Janet Roberts, Gwynedd Social Services)
The inaugural meetings of four of the five NEURODEM Cymru RDGs were held at the 2008 Scientific Conference. It is expected that each RDG will aim to submit at least one proposal for funding every six months.
